WASHINGTON, D.C., June 16, 2015 — Renewable energy provider CleanChoice Energy announced today that it is growing its operations in suburban Pittsburgh to provide expanded sales and customer service.

CleanChoice Energy offers 100% renewable energy to homes and businesses. The company allows customers to sign up for electricity generated from renewable energy sources without a home visit, credit check or rooftop solar project.

"We're excited that more consumers are looking to purchase their energy through clean, renewable energy sources, and that we can provide that opportunity for them," said Tom Matzzie, CEO of CleanChoice Energy. "With increased interest among consumers in purchasing clean energy for their homes or businesses, we are expanding our customer service operations center to better serve them.  Over the next 18 months, we plan to add up to 50 new jobs in suburban Pittsburgh to keep up with the anticipated demand."

CleanChoice Energy operates in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Delaware, New York, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. The company is Green-e Certified, which means that its renewable energy plan meets independent environmental and consumer protection standards, including an annual audit. Green-e is the nation's leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy.

The company also has been recognized as a Certified B Corporation by the independent Philadelphia-based nonprofit B Lab, which certifies companies that meet high standards for having a positive impact on the world and benefiting society. In 2014, the company won a "Best for Worker Impact" honor from B Lab for its employment and procurement practices.
