CleanChoice Energy’s Community Solar program offers landowners and farmers the opportunity to create predictable, long-term revenue by hosting solar projects, while opening the benefits of solar to the thousands that do not own their own home or do not have a roof that works for solar.

When you host a Community Solar project, you’ll have predictable passive income with little risk. CleanChoice Energy will take care of the management and operation of the solar farm—and our projects are designed to be a low impact use of the property. Leasing your property for solar energy will also allow you to maintain ownership of your land for future generations.

Finding suitable sites is critical to the success of bringing renewable energy to more homes and improving our environment. Not only will you be decreasing the use of fossil fuels, but also your land can be seeded and managed to establish perennial-flowering, pollinator-friendly meadows. Flowering vegetation on solar farms is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to direct private sector investment to meaningfully help pollinators and improve soil health.

Crops including alfalfa, cranberries, strawberries, pumpkins, blueberries, and cucumbers can be produced outside the fence of a solar array and significantly benefit from the pollinator habitat around and under the panels inside the fence. And the diverse vegetation on pollinator-friendly farms is terrific forage for honey bees, providing an added value to beekeepers.
