What should I expect on my electric bill?

Let’s take a closer look at your electricity bill and how billing works when you choose CleanChoice Energy as your electricity supplier. See information below on how your bill will stay the same, what will change, and what you can expect:

What stays the same:

You’ll continue to receive your bill from your utility provider, and you will not receive a separate bill from us

You’ll get your normal utility bill the way you always do. CleanChoice Energy doesn't send out a separate utility bill. Instead, you'll see CleanChoice Energy listed as your 100% clean energy supplier on your utility bill.

Your utility provider will continue to maintain your lines, deliver your electricity, and maintain the same reliability

Your utility will also continue to maintain your lines, deliver your electricity, and maintain the same reliability. Your service will stay exactly the same with the reliability you can count on.

What changes:

You will see CleanChoice Energy listed as your energy supplier on your bill

Prior to subscribing to clean energy through CleanChoice Energy, your energy supplier was your local utility, and they typically sourced the majority of their energy from polluting fossil fuels. After subscribing to clean energy for your home, CleanChoice Energy will be your new energy supplier, and source your home with 100% clean energy. As an energy supplier, we serve as an alternative source of electricity supply and work with your utility company to send power to you along the utility's network of power lines. This means that you will be reducing your carbon footprint by offsetting the consumption of dirty energy your home uses with 100% clean energy that’s added to the grid.

You will see a new rate per kilowatt-hour

Your bill will reflect your CleanChoice Energy supply charges and your new rate per kilowatt-hour. Note that CleanChoice Energy is only responsible for the supply portion of your bill, and your utility is responsible for all other charges like distribution, tax charges, etc.

What you can expect:

You might notice an increase in your bill after subscribing to clean energy. Here's why:

Supporting new renewable energy development costs more than delivering polluting energy. Clean energy could be compared to organic produce, or a hybrid car. While you may pay more for them than the alternative, you have to consider the difference your choice makes. When it comes to clean energy, you are paying for cleaner air, a cleaner earth, and a cleaner future.

Keep in mind your usage can fluctuate each month due to the weather, increases or decreases in temperature, inefficient appliances, etc. This will impact how much you’re paying each month.
