Powering a sustainable future

CleanChoice has been supporting the growth of wind and solar for more than 10 years.

Historically, we've partnered with solar and wind projects in the regions we serve, but this year, we are breaking ground on our first CleanChoice-owned solar farm.

Wind and Solar Farm Partners

When you support wind and solar energy through CleanChoice Energy, you're providing a crucial source of funding for American wind and solar farms. Here are a just a few of the farms we partner with.

Rail Splitter Wind Farm

Located on a glacial moraine in Tazewell and Logan counties in IL, this wind farm helps the community economically with payments to landowners, local spending, and annual community investment.

NJ Oak Solar Farm

Located in Cumberland County, NJ, this farm is made up of roughly 53,000 solar panels. When it was built in 2012, it was the largest non-utility owned solar farm east of the Mississippi.

Copenhagen Wind Farm

Located in Northern New York, this 80 MW farm generates enough electricity to power 35,000 homes — which has a positive impact equivalent to 37,000 cars taken off the road.

Meet Blairs Valley, the first of many CleanChoice solar farms

Blairs Valley is a 25 DC megawatt solar array, sitting on 168 acres nestled in Franklin County, PA. It is CleanChoice’s first fully owned and operated solar project, as part of its long-term vision to provide customers with farm-to-table clean energy.

Originally used as farmlands in the 1800s, this project is seeking certification as a monarch waystation, and will be surrounded with trees from local Pennsylvania nurseries.

Building to meet demand

Construction started in February of 2024 and the project is expected to start producing electricity in October 2024. Blairs Valley will produce enough electricity to power 4,500 homes each year.

Maximizing solar production

Blairs Valley is being built with the most sophisticated development standards in mind. Each panel has flex tracking that enables smart rotation to reduce shade and maximize energy production.

Protecting the pollinators

Blairs Valley will feature butterfly-friendly gardens grown next to the solar arrays. The site has been designed to prioritize movement of wildlife, sustainable weed-control, and the preservation of natural wetlands.

9 billion kWh of clean energy added to the power grid since 2012

And we're just getting started. Our vision is a world free of catastrophic climate change with pure, clean air and abundant renewable energy. We're committed to creating a better environment for future generations.

Join us as we develop more solar farms and accelerate the transition to a 100% clean power grid.
