For several weeks, severe bushfires have burned throughout Australia. Looking for ways to help? Here are several organizations you can donate to in order to help the victims, firefighters, and animals affected by the fires:
Australian Red Cross offers emergency assistance and recovery programs for victims of the fires. Donate here.
Foodbank, the largest hunger-relief charity in Australia, is accepting donations. Foodbank can provide $6 worth of food and supplies for every dollar donated. Donate here.
GIVIT is an Australian organization that provides victims with the items they need the most. Donate here.
Save the Children is an Australian organization that offers child-friendly evacuation centers for fire victims. Donate here.
Country Fire Authority in Victoria offers four donation options to support victims and firefighters in Victoria. Donate here.
Country Fire Service in South Australia is taking direct donations to support their volunteer firefighters. Donate here.
Rural Fire Brigades Association in Queensland is accepting donations to support their rural volunteer fire brigades and their tools and resources. Donate here.
Rural Fire Service in New South Wales is accepting donations and has also set up bank accounts specifically for the families of the volunteer firefighters who have been killed while on duty. Donate to the fire service here or the firefighter families here.
RSPCA in New South Wales protects, rescues, evacuates, and treats animals affected by the fires. Donate here.
WIRES rescues and cares for sick, injured, and orphaned animals affected by the fires. Donate here.
World Wildlife Fund Australia is working to care for koalas and other affected animals and will help restore their habitats when the fires cease. Donate here.
